BIM Education Program Courses at the BIMForum July 18-21, 2011 | Chicago, IL UNIT 3: BIM CONTRACT NEGOTIATION & RISK ALLOCATION July 18, 2011—7:30 AM-5:00 PM BIM Contract Negotiation and Risk Allocation is a full-day course that examines BIM and contract terminology to determine best practices for integrating BIM use into project contracts. Hot-button issues such as standard of care, intellectual property rights, and insurance and surety bonding coverage are discussed to help participants become BIM champions within their organizations. It is assumed that all participants have had exposure to basic BIM concepts and terminology through attendance in BIM 101. UNIT 4: BIM PROCESS, ADOPTION, & INTEGRATION July 20, 2011—1:30-5:30 PM, July 21, 2011—7:30 AM-Noon BIM Process, Adoption, and Integration is a full-day course that provides a foundation for participants to establish and execute the BIM process, facilitate its adoption, and achieve integration on a single project and at a company level to execute multiple BIM projects simultaneously. These tools will help establish participants as BIM champions within their organizations. This course is developed for those who have had significant exposure to BIM tools, mechanics, theory and processes and want to learn best practices to implement it into construction projects and firms. It relies on a highly participatory learning environment including case studies, classroom discussions, and instructor-led discussions.
The mission of the BIMForum is to encourage increased collaboration to the project delivery process in the AEC industry by facilitating the adoption and use of BIM technology and processes through education and the promotion of enabling technologies and methods. www.bimforum.org
